A good work of fiction is a doorway to a world that might have been, but just missed by the luck of the draw. Some types of fiction do nothing for me, but some other types can be a lot of fun when they're well-done:
On occasion, I like to spend some time in a good mystery.
Military fiction occupies a couple of shelves.
I'm not much for classic literature, but I have a few examples of that too. Rudyard Kipling, Mark Twain, Jules Verne, and Jack London can all be found in my bookshelves.
