The Star Island Marine Research Institute is a privately funded research laboratory on Star Island in the Isles of Shoals, five miles off the New Hampshire coast. We run research programs into many aspects of sea life around the Isles of Shoals and in the Gulf of Maine.

Our facilities include a fully equipped research lab, half a dozen boats of various sizes, and a light aircraft based at Hampton Airfield. Using these resources, we run both formal scientific studies and informal activities for public participation.
