This bird is only a few weeks older than the previous one, but it's considerably more advanced in its plumage, as adult-color gray feathers are appearing on its back. This and the next 2 photos are worth careful study, as they show the same bird at roughly 6 month intervals. As it takes roughly 6 months to complete each molt, these photos catch this bird in successive molts.
