Gull: IK

Age: 2 years 7 months

A gull with a somewhat unusual story: caught and banded as a chick on Appledore Island, it somehow shed its field-readable band, was recaptured as part of a different banding operation, and had a second field-readable band put on. When this photo was taken, this gull was about 2 years 7 months old. However, it's a very 'advanced' individual, with even less immature brown coloring than L52 had two months later in its life (see previous photo).
